CNN Confirms It: Erin Burnett Heading to CNN in June

Well, we have our official confirmation that CNBC's Erin Burnett is jumping ship.

TVNewser posts that CNN has confirmed that Erin will be joining the network in June:

Erin Burnett will join CNN Worldwide as anchor and chief business and economics correspondent, it was announced today by Jim Walton, president of CNN Worldwide. Burnett will anchor a weekday general news program and will contribute to CNN’s coverage of national and international breaking news events and contribute reporting to CNN.com.
Burnett will begin in June and will be based in CNN’s New York Headquarters.

No time slot for Erin's show has been announced yet.

Congratulations to Erin on her move to CNN.  She is an extraordinarily beautiful and smart journalist, and this move will give her more exposure and opportunities.  It will no doubt be a plus for her career.

Lara Logan to Speak about Her Attack on 60 Minutes

TVNewser reports that this Sunday's edition of CBS's 60 Minutes will feature an interview with Lara Logan, a reporter for the network who was brutally attacked.

The post links to an article by Brian Stelter in the New York Times discussing the incident.  It is a very painful read to be sure.

It really pains me to know that this happened.  Nobody deserves what happened to Lara.

It's great to see that she's recovering.  Lara is a very strong woman with a lot of guts and smarts.  She is determined, above all, to not let this one incident define her.  Knowing her, it won't.

Be proud, Lara, you are a survivor, a badass, and a hero.  I deeply respect and admire you and your work.  This terrible time will not define you.  As you have said, your best work is yet to come.

Q&A with Liz Claman

Modern Mom has a Q&A with FBN's Liz Claman.

Along with more general questions, Liz discusses how being a woman and mother has impacted her career.

Overall, a very interesting Q&A that shows just how much of a go-getter Liz is.  She sees an opportunity and goes for it.  Very admirable.

Erin Burnett Going to CNN?

Brian Stelter of The New York Times reports that Erin Burnett is jumping from CNBC to CNN.

Other than stating that Erin's deal with CNN will be "long-term," Stelter is short on details, raising questions about Erin's potential role on CNN.  Will she be an anchor or a reporter?  If she will be an anchor, what time slot will she fill?  Will her reporting be limited to business news?

Like many other viewers, I've always considered Erin to be part of CNBC's brand.  To see a story about her leaving the network with which she is so closely associated is shocking.

Erin Burnett has proven to be an extremely talented business news reporter on CNBC.  She will undoubtedly be a great asset to CNN.

Lovely Ladies in London

The networks have been sending their A-listers to London to cover the upcoming Royal Wedding.  It's an opportunity to see some of our favorite newswomen outside of the studio.

CNN's Kiran Chetry has been out and about in London, reporting on the route of the royal carriage and sporting one of the tiny hats (known as fascinators) made popular by bride-to-be Kate Middleton.

Meanwhile, on MSNBC, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have taken their show across the pond as well.

And FNC's Martha MacCallum is also en route to London to cover the big day.

While I will not watch the coverage of the Royal Wedding myself, these women will do a bang-up job covering it.

Lis Wiehl and Kimberly Guilfoyle Duke it Out on the O'Reilly Factor

FNC legal analysts Lis Wiehl and Kimberly Guilfoyle appeared on their weekly "Is it Legal?" segment on the O'Reilly Factor last night.

This week, the duo duked it out over subjects ranging from police surveillance of cell phone use to the right to watch porn in public libraries.

Sadly, the videos of these segments are not posted regularly on Foxnews.com.  It's a shame, since they feature a lot of interesting debate and banter between Lis and Kimberly.  Hopefully they will start posting them soon.

Lis Wiehl and Kimberly Guilfoyle are two lovely legal ladies.

Behind the Scenes with Robin Meade at Accent Health

CNN.com has a video from Robin Meade showing what goes on behind the scenes at a taping of Accent Health.

Accent Health is a special program from CNN shown in doctor's offices.  Robin and CNN health contributor Dr. Sanjay Gupta report on health-related news.  The pair work very well together, and have great chemistry.

I've seen Accent Health several times in while sick in my doctor's waiting room.  Robin's beauty and cheerful personality certainly helped to ease the illness.

Robin Meade's Book Set for Re-Release in May

Robin Meade, anchor of HLN's Morning Express, posted about the re-release of her book on her Twitter page.

The book, Morning Sunshine, tells about how Robin overcame her social anxiety and became the confident woman we see on TV today.  The book is set for a re-release in paperback on May 25.

I absolutely adore Robin Meade.  Her cheerful personality makes HLN the channel to watch for morning news.

It's Official: Harris Faulkner Gets the Fox Report Weekend

FNC has finally made the official announcement:  Harris Faulkner is now the anchor of the Fox Report Weekend.

TVNewser has a post on the announcement, including a press release from FNC.

Harris has been anchoring the Fox Report Weekend since January, when FNC bumped Julie Banderas from her weekend anchoring duties without explanation.

As a huge fan of Julie Banderas, I'm going to be honest here:  I haven't been happy about the change since it was first made.  I still feel that Julie has gotten a raw deal.

That said, I don't blame Harris in the slightest.  She's a good (and good-looking) anchor.  Good luck to her.

Lara Logan Update

CBS reporter Lara Logan has broken her Facebook silence, posting on her Facebook page for the first time since being attacked in Egypt more than two months ago.

Her post was a eulogy for photojournalist Chris Hondros, one of the two journalists who-along with Oscar-winning filmmaker Tim Hetherington-was killed in Libya last week.

Also, a Facebook page set up by an Egyptian to apologize to Lara for the attack has posted that CBS is sending cards thanking people for their support.

Best wishes for Lara's continued recovery and eventual return to work.

S.E. Cupp on Earth Day

Today is Good Friday.  For the Earth-conscious among us, it is also Earth Day.

FNC contributor S.E. Cupp had a few words to say on Twitter this Earth Day.

There are plenty of other meats to be grateful for, fellow carnivore.

Happy Birthday Courtney Friel!

Today is FNC entertainment reporter Courtney Friel's birthday.

Courtney, who has recently returned from maternity leave after giving birth to her son Cash, turns 31 today.

A Little Newser Turns One Today

There's also another birthday of note today, but the birthday girl is quite a bit younger than Robin Meade.

Addison Melissa, the daughter of FNC's Julie Banderas, turns one today.

Julie tweeted about the occasion this morning.

A happy birthday to Addison, and wishes of many more to come!

Happy Birthday to Robin Meade!

Today is Robin Meade's 42nd birthday.

Andrea Tantaros Looking Radiant on Red Eye

FNC contributor Andrea Tantaros was the guest on FNC's late-night show Red Eye last night, sitting in the chair that fans of the show have dubbed "the leg chair."  And for good reason, too.

Andrea looked absolutely ravishing in a red dress.

For those of you who did not watch or record it, you missed out on a good show.  Andrea had a lot of good one-liners.

She also plugged her new YouTube channel at the end of the show.  If you're a fan of Andrea's, I highly recommend subscribing to it.

No doubt about it, Andrea Tantaros is a goddess.

Kudos for Kim

Mediaite's Tommy Christopher has a post praising FNC's Kimberly Guilfoyle for sticking up for the victim of a sexual assault.

On last night's O'Reilly Factor, Kimberly and Lis Wiehl-both regular guests on the show's weekly "Is it Legal?" segment-discussed a lawsuit filed against the dating website Match.com by a woman who was sexually-assaulted by a man she met through the site.

While Lis argued that the woman should have done her homework before beginning a relationship with the man, Kimberly took the side of the victim, stating that the attacker-not the victim-is to blame for the attack.

Kimberly won this one hands-down, though Lis is no slouch either.

Video of the segment can be found in Christopher's post.

Kiran Chetry: Caught on Camera

On CNN's American Morning this morning, anchor Kiran Chetry was caught on camera making a run for the anchor desk.

Jakeho has the details:  Kiran left the set during a segment in which co-anchors Christine Romans and Ali Velshi were interviewing Philippe Cousteau about last year's oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  Phillippe's shot went down, and Kiran was called back to the set.  The camera caught her in the background as she was running back to the desk.

Sinner from TV News Caps has the video.

It's moments like these that highlight the quirky cuteness that makes Kiran so attractive.

S.E. vs. Olby, Part Deux

Mediaite's Tommy Christopher has a post on the latest in the brouhaha between FNC contributor S.E. Cupp and ex-MSNBC'er Keith Olbermann.

S.E. responded to Olbermann's attack on her online show (the video-as well as a link to the transcript-can be found in Christopher's post). She excoriated him for the personal nature of his tweet, and especially for drawing her parents into the controversy.

S.E., I admire you for your strength, intelligence, and independence. Keep your chin up, and don't let this scumbag get under your skin.

Robin Meade's Good News

Today, HLN's Robin Meade tweeted that she will be singing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN, on June 18.

Congratulations to Robin!

Kimberly Guifloyle Knocks 'Em Dead on Hannity

One of my favorite women on all of TV news, FNC's Kimberly Guilfoyle, was on Hannity's "Great American Panel" last night.

The panel discussion grew quite spirited at times, with Kimberly getting into it with liberal FNC contributor Bob Beckel on issues such as the budget deficit and President Obama's bid for re-election.

Go get 'em, Kim!

Brooke Baldwin Writes About Her Cancer Scare

Earlier this month, CNN's Brooke Baldwin faced a skin cancer scare.  Thankfully, it turned out to be nothing too serious.

Brooke has written a blog post about her experience.

It's great to know that it wasn't too serious.  Many wishes for Brooke's continued good health.

Julie Banderas Has Still Got It

Despite losing her weekend shows, FNC's Julie Banderas continues to prove that she is one of the best in the business.

Case in point: Today, she appeared on several of FNC's shows to report on the various schemes by which airlines are trying to make more money, ranging from charging extra for peanuts to offering personal escorts (no, not the dirty kind) to their customers.

The segment led to some interesting banter this afternoon between Julie and her former co-anchor, Gregg Jarrett. When Julie asked him whether he'd pay for a personal escort, Gregg jokingly said that he would, but only if that escort was Julie.

Julie Banderas has it all: Beauty, brains, a sense of humor, I could go on and on.

Keep up the good work, Julie!

Molly Line Subbed for Alisyn Camerota This AM

It was FNC reporter Molly Line's time to shine this morning as she filled in for Alisyn Camerota on Fox & Friends Weekend.

And shine she did!

Molly deserves more airtime. You hear me, FNC?

Juliet Huddy's Return

This morning marked Juliet Huddy's return air after a rather long hiatus.

Juliet filled in for Fox & Friends Weekend anchor Alisyn Camerota, who was taking a well-deserved break after anchoring America's Newsroom during the week.  And-as the above cap from this morning shows-she was looking very lovely.

Juliet, your fans couldn't be happier to see you back on air after so long.

FNC'ers Attend Charity Dinner

FNC'ers Ainsley Earhardt and Kimberly Guilfoyle were guests at the 4th Annual "Night of Opportunity" Benefit Dinner, which was held in New York City on April 11.  The dinner benefited the Opportunity Network, a charity dedicated to improving high-achieving, low-income students' access to higher education and career opportunities.

The Manhattan Society's website has photos of the event.  Kimberly and Ainsley certainly looked gorgeous!

OIby's Up to His Old Tricks

Ex-MSNBC'er Keith Olbermann is up to his old tricks again, stirring up the blogosphere with the comments he made about conservative FNC contributor S.E. Cupp on his Twitter page.

Responding to comments S.E. made about Planned Parenthood on HLN's Joy Behar Show, Olbermann tweeted the following:

On so many levels she’s [S.E.] a perfect demonstration of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does

Predictably, Olby's tweet led to a backlash, including a response from S.E.'s mother and a skewering by the gang on FNC's late-night show Red Eye.

This type of vicious personal attack isn't a new tactic of Olbermann's.  He's made similar remarks about other anchors, including FNC's Julie Banderas and former FNC'er E.D. Hill, when he anchored Countdown on MSNBC.

Perhaps he's jealous.  After all, S.E. has more intelligence and class than the entire Olbermann family line put together!

Contessa Brewer Expecting a Baby

TVNewser reports that MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer is expecting a baby.  The announcement was made during on-air banter with reporter Martin Bashir, who brought up Brewer's pregnancy during a conversation about the upcoming Royal Wedding.

Contessa subsequently confirmed the news on her Twitter and Facebook pages.

Congratulations, Contessa.  I wish all the best for you and your family.
